Our Products

While oil is still used for some lightly loaded cables with high efficiency needs, greases offer several advantages for control cable lubrication. A grease’s stay-in-place capability mitigates leakage problems associated with oil. Greases also prevent wear better than oils. Formulated by gelling a base oil with a thickener system, they act as a sponge of oil, slowly releasing oil throughout the life of the cable and ensuring an adequate supply of lubricant during cycling. Special grease formulations can further improve cable performance and extend operating life. Spark Control cable greases used for a variety of control cable applications, primarily for the automotive industry. We offer greases for mechanical systems that use cables, pulleys, tracks, and guides. Many are rust-inhibited for protection of metal rail systems. We also offer greases for push-pull cables. They feature a unique combination of oils and gelling agents which provide excellent cable wetting, very low friction, and load-carrying capabilities. The very high viscosity greases also introduce varying degrees of damping which can be helpful when trying to reduce mechanical vibration from one end of the cable to the other. Damping can also deliver a preferred “quality” feel in a cable.

Applications

Many factors must be considered when designing or selecting a linear positioning device. The rolling and sliding actions which occur in all types of gearing, such as spur, helical, worm, spiral bevel or hypoid, present a different type of challenge to lubricants compared to ball or roller bearings. Spark Graphite greases is designed for the lubrication of spring leaves, handbrake cables, flexible drives and exposed chains.
Spark Graphite greases is suitable for use in slow speed plain bearings and slides where a heavy grease with solid lubricants is required.
Spark Graphite greases can also be used in industrial, mining and construction equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, loading shovels and dump trucks where graphite grease is recommended and high temperature capability is not required.
our Graphite Grease can be used in plain bearing locks, latches and fasteners, cables and springs and even as a fifth wheel lubricant.

NOTE: Should not be used in wheel bearings or where temperatures are likely to exceed 60°.

Spark Auto greases is a high quality soap thickened grease. It is made using highly refined base oils and features include a high level of oxidation, rust and water washout protection. It is a multi-purpose rust & oxidation (R&O) type grease designed as a multi-service grease for industrial applications, particularly high speed, low load bearing applications.

Applications

Spark Auto greases is recommended for use in most types of industrial applications operating under high speed, low load conditions. It is suitable for rolling element bearings, plain bearings, gears and couplings. Applications include electric motors, pumps, fans & generators.
Spark Auto greases has outstanding corrosion and water resistant properties and therefore can be employed where water ingress is present.
Spark Auto greases is recommended for warm to hot ambient temperature applications. Recommended operating temperature range is from minus 20° to 130°.
